New Advisor Appointment: Cyber Risk & Investigations Advisor

We are delighted to announce that Kevin Hart will be joining the Asset Reality team as a Cyber Risk & Investigations Advisor.

Having worked in the financial forensic investigation fields for over 22 years, Kevin currently works to provide fraud prevention training and advice to organisations around the world. As an expert in fraud, corruption and forensic data analytics, he has previously worked with both private and public sector clients on both the African and EU continents and he holds the professional Certified Fraud Examiner designation from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE). Kevin has also spent time in litigation support including eDiscovery and has acted as an expert witness.

Kevin’s background is in accounting and finance, having achieved a Master Degree in Commerce and Financial Management from the University of Cape Town - as well as a Bachelor of Commerce in Accountancy and Commercial Law from Rhodes University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. This impressive educational background in finance gave him a breadth of knowledge in forensic accounting, auditing and management.

He has had extensive experience in fraud risk management having worked in the field of Cyber Risk since 2013. This includes conducting fraud perception surveys, anti-fraud and anti-corruption training projects and numerous cyber incidents and data privacy assignments.

Kevin will be leading efforts to analyse and mitigate the risks involved with the recovery, storage and realization of virtual assets, particularly when dealing with complex assets like cryptocurrency or non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

With his vast expertise in cyber-enabled crime investigations, the identification of assets and the tracing of associated funds, as well as knowledge of money laundering investigations and corporate intelligence, Kevin makes a wonderful addition to the Asset Reality team.

When asked about his new appointment, Kevin had this to say:

“We are at the tipping point of blockchain development and acceptance by society. Cryptocurrencies and other digital assets are being recognised as legitimate asset classes, just like we embraced the internet and mobile phone use not that long ago. Knowing the benefits and risks of these new technologies is of utmost importance. I’m especially excited to contribute to the rapid growth of the business.”

Asset Reality’s Co-Founder & CEO, Aidan Larkin, added:

“As Asset Reality develops tools to help businesses in the crypto ecosystem, having team members with Kevin’s experience, who understand the risks to these public and private sector companies, is essential. As a Certified Fraud Examiner, experienced in investigations and implementing technology projects in previous Director roles in Kroll and Grant Thornton, he’s a high calibre addition to our growing international team that will serve our client base well. We’re delighted to welcome him on board.“
