The Role

Asset Reality’s Operations team handles some of the most sensitive and high‑impact digital asset workflows in the world, from seized‑asset custody to sensitive covert deployments.

We seek a bilingual (French/English) Crypto Operations specialist to strengthen our London HQ‑based operations function and support French‑speaking stakeholders and users of the Asset Reality Platform (including guidance, troubleshooting, documentation queries etc.). From time-to-time, you will need to travel to visit operational partners and public‑sector clients (e.g., to France).

Because this role involves sensitive workflows, secure environments, and real‑time coordination, we operate primarily in‑office (Bank tube). New joiners are expected to work from the office four to five days a week.

Why this role is special:
  • Work on the front line of government‑grade crypto operations and handle assets that come from real criminal investigations;
  • Build infrastructure used by law‑enforcement, defence, and asset recovery practitioners globally; and
  • Join a fast-growing startup with a stake in the outcome (compensation benchmarked for London, including stock options)

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will manage key French-speaking clients, and support the broader team with managing custody workflows, settlements and reconciliations across multiple venues and banking partners, ensuring control completeness, auditability and timely execution.

  • Custody operations: Operate and supervise MPC/HSM etc. wallet frameworks, address whitelisting, and policy controls; oversee secure asset movements across supported networks.
  • Lifecycle control: Manage end‑to‑end post‑trade processes (trade capture, confirmation, crypto/fiat settlement, reconciliations, break resolution) to institutional standards.
  • Treasury operations: Monitor liquidity, funding queues and payment rails (SEPA/SWIFT/CHAPS); execute rebalancing and settlements with four‑eyes controls and evidence.
  • Documentation and assurance: Maintain SOPs/runbooks; ensure artefacts (receipts, confirmations, certificates, invoices) are complete and available for internal/external audit.
  • Issue management: Lead your own incident logging and root‑cause analysis, track corrective/preventive actions, and report on control effectiveness.
  • Change and automation: Partner with product/engineering to improve reconciliations, monitoring and exception handling; contribute to pragmatic automation (SQL/scripts/sheets/dashboards).
  • External coordination: Liaise with exchanges, liquidity providers, custody technology vendors, and banks; oversee onboarding and conformance testing.
  • Regulatory alignment: Operate within AML/CTF parameters and support MiCA/FCA/etc. obligations in concert with Compliance.

Candidate Profile

We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds and those with transferable skills from other sectors.

Essential
  • Language: French (native/professional), English (native/professional)
  • Experience: hands‑on crypto back/middle‑office or custody operations (exchange, broker, market‑maker, custodian, or fintech). You’ve moved assets at scale, run settlements, reconciliations, and breaks investigations.
  • Crypto knowledge: strong understanding of public/private key encryption (multi-party computation, hardware security modules), smart contracts, liquidity pools, and the broader crypto ecosystem.
  • Tooling and data: confident with spreadsheets; comfortable using SQL or scripting for checks/automation; familiar with ticketing and on‑call practices.
  • Execution mindset: bias to action with high attention to detail; calm under time pressure; excellent stakeholder communication across legal, finance, risk, and engineering.
Desirable
  • Experience with regulatory/security frameworks (FCA, MiCA, ISO27001, SOC 2, DORA, etc.).
  • Prior work in asset recovery, defence, law enforcement, or insolvency.
