The goal is to start high-quality conversations that build trust, identify champions, and lay the groundwork for modernized seizure and asset recovery programs. As part of a small, early-stage startup, you’ll gain direct exposure to leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and the chance to grow quickly within the company. For someone driven by purpose and curiosity, this role offers a fast track to meaningful experience and advancement.

The Role

You’ll be building pipeline with US law enforcement agencies, speaking directly with investigators, detectives, and senior stakeholders to understand how they manage seized assets, where their processes break down, and whether there’s a real opportunity to remove an obstacle they face.

This is not a high-volume SDR role. You won’t succeed here by making hundreds of calls a week. You’ll succeed through research which leads you to running better conversations with the right people: asking the right questions, listening carefully, building trust and value for the prospect, and converting genuine interest into qualified pipeline to hand off to the Sales team.

The only prerequisites are that you have a proven, successful history of performing against targets with SaaS products to the public sector, and that you are a good culture add for Asset Reality.

Responsibilities

What you’ll be doing

  • Running targeted outbound enquiries with law enforcement agencies following an event, an introduction, or where your research leads you to an agency in need.
  • Identifying and reaching the right stakeholders within agencies
  • Leading discovery conversations to understand how agencies operate, where workflows break down, and how decisions get made
  • Qualifying opportunities based on real buying signals, and disqualifying when it isn’t right
  • Handling objections around budget, internal processes, and existing tools
  • Running commercial conversations that connect operational challenges to measurable outcomes
  • Booking high-quality meetings that convert into real pipeline
  • Following up on events and conferences to turn conversations into opportunities

What good looks like

  • You are passionate about relentlessly discovering the people whose problems we can solve.
  • You are focused on finding the right targets and helping them succeed.
  • Your outreach generates conversations we can convert into clients, not just activity.
  • You get the right stakeholders to your meetings, and pipeline health is always top of mind.
  • Your discovery calls clearly identify how the agency operates, whether a real problem exists, and who is responsible for making change.
  • You are thorough in producing documentation which clearly reflects what you have learned and delivers an efficient handover.
  • You deliver on quality pipeline generated, not call volume.

Skills we’re hiring for

These are the skills that will make the difference in this role:

  • Discovery: you ask structured, layered questions that surface real problems, not surface-level pain. You are always curious, but listen to learn, and prioritize listening over speaking.
  • Qualification: you can assess stakeholder, urgency, budget, and process, and know when to walk away when it’s not right
  • Commercial thinking: you connect operational challenges to financial or strategic outcomes, not just features
  • Stakeholder confidence: you’re comfortable holding a room with senior law enforcement personnel
  • Objection handling: you can handle difficult conversations and move them forward
  • Outbound execution: you can generate conversations from cold without leaning on leads or scripts
  • Communication: clear, direct, and credible in writing and in person

Experience

  • Prior SDR/BDR experience
  • Experience selling into government or law enforcement is preferred
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-growing, early-stage environment
  • Bonus points for Spanish language skills (but this is not a requirement).

Who succeeds here

  • Consultative, but able to push conversations forward
  • Comfortable challenging a prospect when needed
  • Genuinely curious about how organizations actually operate
  • Resilient and consistent, especially when outbound is slow
  • Can build their own approach rather than waiting for one to be handed to them

This role may not be the right fit if:

  • You prefer following structured scripts rather than adapting conversations in real time
  • You focus on activity volume over conversation quality
  • You’re uncomfortable handling pushback or commercial discussions
  • You need a fully built process before you can get started

Compensation & Location

  • Base salary range and total compensation indication can be provided following the first call if your resume is selected for further interview. We prefer to tailor to experience, while respecting your time.
  • Preference for Washington, DC area (remote to start)
  • Open to strong candidates willing to work East Coast time zone.
  • Travel required for conferences and events
